Vitamin A & Carotenoids

A meta-analysis of 15 studies (1) including over 12,000 study participants demonstrated that vitamin A may protect healthy cervical cells. Adequate levels of carotenoids also seem to play a role in maintaining cervical health (2).

Vitamin C

According to a study published in the Journal of Epidemiology (3), supplementing with vitamin C may help support cervical health.* Currently, the Recommended Dietary Allowance (RDA) for vitamin C is 75 mg/day for women and 90 mg/day for men over the age of 19 (4). Yet the study notes that approximately 35% of American women in their reproductive years consume less than 30 mg of vitamin C daily, and 68% less than 88 mg.

Manganese

Found in small amounts primarily in the liver, bones, pancreas, and kidneys, dietary manganese is an essential mineral that performs several functions in the human body. It is incorporated into the antioxidant enzyme manganese superoxide dismutase (MnSOD), which the body needs to fight off immune threats (6).

Selenium

Selenium also belongs to the category of essential minerals and is known for its antioxidant capabilities.* Recommended daily intake of selenium is 55 mcg for both adult men and women (7).* Long-term selenium supplementation has been shown to have beneficial effects on cervical tissues (8). Brazil nuts, cooked halibut, tuna, and canned sardines are excellent sources of selenium.

Chromium

Chromium is an essential mineral that is found in trace amounts in plants and is typically consumed through diet. Chromium enhances the action of insulin, which is why many people use chromium to balance their blood sugar.* Interestingly, people with blood sugar issues may have weaker immune defenses, making getting adequate chromium even more important for this population when they are fighting an immune challenge (9).

Copper

Copper is an essential trace mineral that is involved in various processes in the body. It plays an important role in maintaining a healthy immune system (11). Copper deficiency has been shown to impair the immunological function of a type of white blood cell called macrophages (12).* While frank copper deficiency is uncommon, only a quarter of Americans get enough each day (13)(14). Each HPD Rx ONE serving contains 2 mg of copper. Organ meats like liver are rich sources of this essential mineral.

Vitamin D3

Vitamin D, often referred to as the “sunshine vitamin,” is essential for overall health. Yet, with 42% of the Americans deficient in vitamin D (15), we are facing a real epidemic. Optimizing your vitamin D level is important not only to have strong bones, but it may also support your heart, strengthen your immunity, boost your mood, and protect your cells (16).* One daily dose of HPD Rx ONE contains 2,000 IU of vitamin D3.

Molybdenum

Molybdenum is one of the essential minerals that the human body needs to function. Its main responsibilities are to produce energy, protect our cells, and assist with waste removal.* Without sufficient amounts of molybdenum, harmful toxins and sulfites would accumulate in our body.

Biotin

Biotin, a member of the B-complex vitamins, is an essential nutrient that is indispensable for optimum human health.* Optimum biotin levels support a healthy immune system as it affects the functions of adaptive immune T and natural killer cells (17). Scientist suggest that 30 mcg of biotin daily is an adequate amount for adults. A daily dose of HPD Rx ONE contains 30 mcg of biotin (18).

Vitamin E

Research has shown that vitamin E has strong protective and antioxidant properties (19). HPD Rx ONE contains 100 IU of vitamin E. Dietary sources include dry roasted almonds, sunflower seeds, boiled spinach, and broccoli.
